PROJECT ON THIRD SECTOR GOVERNANCE

The Project on Third Sector Governance at the University of Mysore is part of a larger study involving six Asian countries, viz., India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, which addresses the issues related to Third Sector Organisations and the Governance Practices. Third Sector refers to all those organisations that are non-governmental, voluntary and not-for-profit.

The Project is an effort to record different modes and practices of governance that are found in not-for profit initiatives. This mapping is the first step to form the base for larger understanding of governance in general and Civil Society in particular.

The project tries to draw from the Third Sector Organisations their understanding of governance and what good governance means to different TSOs. Based on this input the study tries to generate systematic overview of different approaches of Third Sector Organisations towards governance.
